The Campout

My youngest sister and I planned this months ago after I bought my new car. She couldn’t or didn’t have the time for me to go all the way to Bend, Oregon where she lives, so compromised on Charbonneau Park, not too far from the Tri-Cities where we grew up.

Eight Lives Short

One evening Ms. Coyote told her worthless husband, Wile E Coyote, “I’m hungry!” She was pregnant with her tenth litter, due any day now.
“Yes dear, rabbit, quail, or…” He purposefully left it hanging for her to decide.
“Cat, a nice, domesticated cat,” she replied, her opened jaw salivating with craving. “Your babies wants a cat to feed on. They are so tasty.”

Remembering an Old Friend

Now it’s going on what sixteen years? Anyway, his name was Steve McCollough, and he was my roommate for a number of years back in the early 90s. I lived at his house that was next door to my parents’ place in West Richland. Coincidence?

Anecdotes

My story revolved around the time I spent with my Uncle Lloyd at his homestead outside Jackson, Wyoming. It had been too hot to do anymore work in his log cabin and Uncle Lloyd suggested we go fishing at the Snake River.

An Uncle of Mine

Last Saturday I received the news from my cousin that Uncle Hal was passing. The next morning I received word that his spirit went to Heaven. He was ninety, a veteran of the United States Army serving in both Korea and Vietnam.

Cactus Flower

I lost my cousin Ron yesterday and I will definitely miss him, not for his life experiences, though there were many, one experience that we shared in 1969 while visiting our grandmother, a movie we went to called Cactus Flower.

A New Beginning

Sunday morning my step daughter gave birth to Ethan James Viscario. He quite literally is a miracle.
I truly think he looks like his father.

Oklahoma Or Bust

Back in December I searched the web, trolling over possible deals and went to the Delta Airlines site and out of an abundance of curiosity, looked up round trip ticket prices to Oklahoma. I have an Uncle and three cousins who live there. To my amazement it was nearly as expensive a proposition as I feared. As a matter of fact it was quite reasonable to fly.
