Long ago when was just starting my life as an apprentice alcoholic, I became friends with my boss, a cook at the Elks Lodge in West Richland. I remember his first name, Ernie, but not his last; not that it matters. Suffice to say he was the journeyman alcoholic that I strived to become.

Maybe A Solution
I go through Spokane on occasion because I still have appointments to keep.
The other day I drove by apartments that were vacated because they were drug dens, and many people were fed up with these residences.
The consequence? More homelessness than ever.

Now that I’m of an age to get social security and still work full time, I have lived by shoestring budgets, prayers I have a job when I come to work the following day and hope I don’t become ill or be in an accident where I would be homeless or without the means to rebound.
